I almost broke my brain, trying to figure out what the clip canvas function does. Upon discovering its use, I felt so silly. It is extremely simple, but extremely useful, especially for surface pattern design, where most of the Maltese will generally go off of the canvas and then be clipped to a rectangle. Wow, those are off of the canvas. You would still need to know where the motifs are therefore, toggling the clip canvas will find itself useful in the scenario.
