There’s obviously nothing I can do about it but I’m wondering if ANYONE at Linearity thought about this before gleefully just rolling out this change? Zero warning. I had a project open on my computer last night. This morning it was there but I didn’t have time to work on it. This afternoon I come back to my computer and the app is just gone from my dock, gone from my app folder, my open window is just gone but there’s a box that says “file not found.” Then I check my email and there’s the “yea welcome to linearity curve” announcement, way too late to do anything about my now very much gone almost done work. Did this happen to anyone else?? A little heads up would have been nice. Saving your work frequently doesn’t matter if the entire app just disappears and gets replaced and the work is just wiped out of existence.
aaaaaaaand you can’t use it unless you go through google or apple. I’m sick of this crap.
Hey @dawnjones, first off thank you for the feedback and taking us through the problem.
I apologize for the issue but rest assured, I’m more than happy to help out. There could be multiple reasons behind this so I’ll list out some information as we look into it:
-
Our naming has changed on AppStore so it could be that Vectornator doesn’t exist any longer under the same naming on the AppStore and hence it might have disappeared, which might be connected to AppStore. In any case, this is where you can find Linearity Curve.
-
Secondly, I can confirm that we had no changes or migrations that might impact files and we haven’t received feedback on this matter so far. We are confidant they are still out there and we can help you.
-
Lastly, in order for us to do some investigation and look into this for you, I’ll be needing some diagnostic information. Would you be able to let us know:
Email associated with your account
Your operating system & device model
Any files that you might still have access to
I am adding some screenshots on how you can access diagnostic files below:
Thank you!

I had no trouble finding Curve as it was automatically in my apps. And clearly I had no trouble finding the website. Vectornator was/is gone. Entirely. Gone from my dock, gone from my apps. I didn’t have time to wait so I’ve already restarted my work in a completely different program and as of midnight last night, am close to being done again. If I have time today I’ll think about sending diagnostics. For now, I just need to keep working.
Hi @dawnjones thank you for the reply. I’m glad to hear you’ve made great progress albeit the trouble.
We went over this with the team and it sounds like the app disappearing completely might be an unexpected behavior more connected to AppStore as we haven’t received any incidents of the app completely disappearing. Regardless, we once again apologize for this issue and we’re more than happy to look at any diagnostic data you might have for us.
I lost the ability to open any of my files since I’m on the beta and all my stuff is locally saved to my iPad. It would have been nice to have a “we will no longer be supporting vectornator please download linearity for updated support” instead of an invasive change and inability to access our art.
I wouldn’t have even known about the update had I not had vectornator docked on my iPad and seen a completely new app in its place
You do not have to login/signup to use Curve.
